Before installing Webchat on an Alliance site, you'll need to locate your Google container ID for your Google Tag Manager account. If you don’t have a Google Tag Manager account, you’ll need to set one up.
After you’ve signed into your Google Tag Manager Account you’ll need to install the Webchat code in Google Tag Manager before it will appear on your website.
To install Webchat in Google Tag Manager:
- If you haven’t already, copy the Webchat code to a clipboard.
- In Google Tag Manager, click Tags.
- Click New.
- Click Tag Configuration.
- Select Custom HTML.
- Paste the Webchat code.
- Name the tag Podium Webchat.
- Click Triggering.
- Select All Pages.
- Click Add.
- Click Save.
- Click Submit.
- Add a version name and description.
- Click Publish.
Once Webchat has been installed on your company’s Google Tag Manager account, you’ll need to submit a request for your website to be updated. You’ll be required to include your email address, dealer name, account number, URL, country, alliance level, state, and container ID.
