Installing Webchat on Alliance

Before installing Webchat on an Alliance site, you'll need to locate your Google container ID for your Google Tag Manager account. If you don’t have a Google Tag Manager account, you’ll need to set one up.

Installing Webchat on Google Tag Manager

After you’ve signed into your Google Tag Manager Account you’ll need to install the Webchat code in Google Tag Manager before it will appear on your website.

To install Webchat in Google Tag Manager:

  1. If you haven’t already, copy the Webchat code to a clipboard.
  2. In Google Tag Manager, click Tags.

  4. Click Tag Configuration.

  5. Select Custom HTML.

  6. Paste the Webchat code.

  7. Name the tag Podium Webchat.

  8. Click Triggering.

  9. Select All Pages.

  10. Click Add.

Updating Your Alliance Website

Once Webchat has been installed on your company’s Google Tag Manager account, you’ll need to submit a request for your website to be updated. You’ll be required to include your email address, dealer name, account number, URL, country, alliance level, state, and container ID.

Attention: After the form has been submitted, it typically takes 2–3 business days for requests to be processed and Webchat to appear on your Alliance site.

To submit a request to update your Alliance site:

  1. In Google Tag Manager, copy the container ID to your clipboard.

  2. Go to the Hunger Douglas Dealer Website Change Request Form.
  3. Fill in the required fields.
  4. Select Need to add Podium chat to website via Google Tag Manager.

  5. Paste the Google container ID into the form.

  6. Click Next to submit the form.
