Setting Up Business Hours

Customers want to know that they’ll be taken care of no matter when they contact you. And you want your customers to know that you appreciate their business, even when you’re closed. Set your business hours (and any exceptions), and you can use the after-hours responder to let people know when you’re unavailable and can get back to them.

Adding Regular Business Hours 

  1. Click the settings (gear) icon and select Business Hours.businessHours1.png

  2. Select Open or Closed for each day.businessHours2.png

  3. If necessary, choose different opening and closing times. By default, business hours are set to 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.businessHours3.png

  4. If your business is closed at other times during the day (for example, at lunchtime), click the add (+) button to select additional times.businessHours4.png

  5. Click Save.

Adding Special Hours

If your business will be closed for a holiday or you have an irregular schedule on a specific day, you can set up special business hours.

To set up special hours:

  1. Click the settings (gear) icon and select Business Hours.businessHours1.png

  3. Select a specific date.businessHours6.png

  4. If you’ll be open for irregular hours, click the Open toggle and set your hours; if your business will be closed on that day, you don’t need to do anything else.businessHours7.png

  5. Click Save.

Responding to Messages Outside of Business Hours

If you’re a team leader or account owner, you can set up the after-hours responder so that anyone who texts you outside of regular business hours will receive an automated text from your business.

You can customize the automatic reply to include, for example, your business hours or an emergency line. By default, your business hours are set to 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, in your local time zone, but you can customize them to fit your needs.

Attention: If you manually send a message to a customer after business hours, the after-hours responder will be disabled for 60 minutes for that customer. This means that if the customer sends a message within 60 minutes, they won’t receive the after-hours responder message. After the 60 minutes, the after-hours responder will be enabled again for that customer.

  4. Click Save.
